Creating Your Account

This guide walks you through signing up for TMS, verifying your account, and setting up your profile so you are ready to start testing.

Sign Up with Email

1. Go to your organization's TMS URL or the TMS sign-up page.
2. Click Sign Up or Create Account.
3. Fill in the registration form:
   • Email -- Your work email address.
   • Username -- A unique username (3-30 characters).
   • Full Name -- Your first and last name.
   • Password -- A strong password that meets the requirements below.
4. Click Create Account.
5. Check your email inbox for a verification message from TMS.

Password Requirements

Your password must meet all of the following:

Requirement	Details
Minimum length	8 characters
Uppercase letter	At least one (A-Z)
Lowercase letter	At least one (a-z)
Number	At least one (0-9)
Special character	At least one (e.g., !@#$%^&*)

Use a password manager to generate and store a strong, unique password for your TMS account.

Verify Your Email

After signing up, you need to verify your email address before you can use TMS.

1. Open the verification email from TMS (check your spam folder if you do not see it).
2. Click the Verify Email button in the email.
3. You will be taken to TMS with a confirmation message that your account is active.

The verification link expires after 24 hours. If it has expired, go to the login page and click Resend Verification Email.

Sign In with Google or GitHub (OAuth)

If your organization has OAuth enabled, you can sign in without creating a password:

1. On the login page, click Sign in with Google or Sign in with GitHub.
2. Authorize TMS to access your account information.
3. You will be automatically logged in. If this is your first time, TMS creates your account using your OAuth profile details.

OAuth login uses the name and email from your Google or GitHub account. You can update these in your TMS profile settings after signing in.

Your First Login

The first time you log in, TMS guides you through a quick setup:

1. Complete your profile -- Add a profile picture and confirm your display name.
2. Join or create an organization -- Join your team's existing organization (if you were invited) or create a new one.
3. Take the guided tour -- An optional walkthrough highlights the main areas of the platform. You can skip this and return to it later from the Help menu.

Set Up Your Profile

To update your profile at any time:

1. Click your avatar in the top-right corner.
2. Select Profile Settings.
3. Update any of the following:
   • Profile Photo -- Upload an image (JPG, PNG, max 5 MB).
   • Full Name -- How your name appears to teammates.
   • Email -- Changing your email requires re-verification.
   • Timezone -- Used for timestamps and scheduled reports.
   • Language -- Set your preferred interface language.
4. Click Save Changes.

Configure Notification Preferences

Control how and when TMS notifies you:

1. Go to Settings > Notifications.
2. Configure your preferences:

Channel	Available notifications
Email	Test assigned to you, mentioned in comments, daily digest
In-App	Test run completed, test failures, new comments
Push	Critical test failures only (if enabled)

3. Click Save Preferences.

Start with the defaults and adjust over time. Most users find the "mentioned in comments" and "test assigned to me" email notifications the most useful.

Reset Your Password

If you forget your password:

1. On the login page, click Forgot Password?
2. Enter the email address associated with your account.
3. Click Send Reset Link.
4. Open the reset email and click the link.
5. Enter your new password (must meet the password requirements above).
6. Click Reset Password.
7. Log in with your new password.
