Creating Your Account

This guide walks you through signing up for ProvaLab.io, verifying your account, and setting up your profile so you are ready to start testing.

Sign Up with Email​

  1. Go to your organization's ProvaLab.io URL or the ProvaLab.io sign-up page.
  2. Click Sign Up or Create Account.
  3. Fill in the registration form:
    • Email -- Your work email address.
    • Username -- A unique username (3-30 characters).
    • Full Name -- Your first and last name.
    • Password -- A strong password that meets the requirements below.
  4. Click Create Account.
  5. Check your email inbox for a verification message from ProvaLab.io.

Password Requirements​

Your password must meet all of the following:

Use a password manager to generate and store a strong, unique password for your ProvaLab.io account.

Verify Your Email​

After signing up, you need to verify your email address before you can use ProvaLab.io.

  1. Open the verification email from ProvaLab.io (check your spam folder if you do not see it).
  2. Click the Verify Email button in the email.
  3. You will be taken to ProvaLab.io with a confirmation message that your account is active.

The verification link expires after 24 hours. If it has expired, go to the login page and click Resend Verification Email.

Sign In with Google or GitHub (OAuth)​

If your organization has OAuth enabled, you can sign in without creating a password:

  1. On the login page, click Sign in with Google or Sign in with GitHub.
  2. Authorize ProvaLab.io to access your account information.
  3. You will be automatically logged in. If this is your first time, ProvaLab.io creates your account using your OAuth profile details.

OAuth login uses the name and email from your Google or GitHub account. You can update these in your ProvaLab.io profile settings after signing in.

Your First Login​

The first time you log in, ProvaLab.io guides you through a quick setup:

  1. Complete your profile -- Add a profile picture and confirm your display name.
  2. Join or create an organization -- Join your team's existing organization (if you were invited) or create a new one.
  3. Take the guided tour -- An optional walkthrough highlights the main areas of the platform. You can skip this and return to it later from the Help menu.

Set Up Your Profile​

To update your profile at any time:

  1. Click your avatar in the top-right corner.
  2. Select Profile Settings.
  3. Update any of the following:
    • Profile Photo -- Upload an image (JPG, PNG, max 5 MB).
    • Full Name -- How your name appears to teammates.
    • Email -- Changing your email requires re-verification.
    • Timezone -- Used for timestamps and scheduled reports.
    • Language -- Set your preferred interface language.
  4. Click Save Changes.

Configure Notification Preferences​

Control how and when ProvaLab.io notifies you:

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications.
  2. Configure your preferences:

  1. Click Save Preferences.

Start with the defaults and adjust over time. Most users find the "mentioned in comments" and "test assigned to me" email notifications the most useful.

Reset Your Password​

If you forget your password:

  1. On the login page, click Forgot Password?
  2. Enter the email address associated with your account.
  3. Click Send Reset Link.
  4. Open the reset email and click the link.
  5. Enter your new password (must meet the password requirements above).
  6. Click Reset Password.
  7. Log in with your new password.
